I’m Jena, and my pronouns are she/her. I am a BADT Certified, Full-Spectrum Doula in the Calgary area. I provide physical, informational, and emotional support to folks during their reproductive and parenthood journeys.

These things you are experiencing can feel scary! We were never meant to experience the complexities of human life in a vacuum. When we lived in close community, you would have witnessed your friends, family members, and neighbours walk through these life milestones before you. When it came your turn, you would face them as you had seen others do before you. You may still have feared, but you knew you wouldn’t be walking that path alone.

These days, so much of these big, life-altering, heart-shaping, moments are shrouded from public view. Few people will get the privilege of witnessing someone give birth before it’s their own turn. They’ll hear about how “natural” feeding your baby from your body is, and then wonder why it’s so difficult for them. They’ll feel alone in the deep ache of infertility, or feel like they must keep the secret of their decision to end a pregnancy. They will miss out on the knowledge, the stories, the tips and tricks passed down from all those that came before.

This is why I do the work that I do. I believe folks should never have to walk alone on these journeys. I hold space for you as you make the next right choice for you and experience whatever transformation is to come

She had all the answers and advice I needed that didn't fall under medical advice, of course. She met me at my level, never pushing for anything, always so encouraging and patient. Her knowledge is outstanding. Her assistance in creating our birth plan was so helpful and she walked us through all the details that were new and unknown to first time parents.

When it came time for my labour, I knew it was too early to call my midwives but Jena showed up at 1am to help me through a very long labour, using her expertise to support me and my partner through the process. She helped me use natural methods to encourage my labour and seemed to know what I needed before I needed it. So immensely grateful to have had Jena at the birth of our daughter.”
